At Vriksha Veda, our Mahua Seed Oil is ethically sourced from tribal communities in Chhattisgarh, where Mahua has been cherished and used traditionally for generations. We bring it with the intention of supporting traditional livelihoods while bringing this lesser-known Indian botanical into your everyday self-care rituals.
Mahua oil is a rich, nourishing oil and a very thick yellow oil just like butter extracted from the seeds of the Mahua tree, a tree deeply connected for generations with the traditional knowledge and livelihoods of several tribal communities in India.
Its naturally rich, emollient nature makes the oil especially wonderful for dry, rough and dehydrated skin, as well as dry and unruly hair.
Mahua Oil for Skin: A rich, nourishing oil that helps moisturise and soften dry, rough skin. Its emollient texture leaves the skin feeling supple, smooth and comforted without the need for complicated skincare rituals.
Mahua Oil for Hair: Ideal for dry, frizzy and damaged-looking hair. It helps condition the hair lengths, improve softness and add a nourished feel to dry strands. Apply a small amount to the scalp and massage gently. Work the remaining oil through the lengths and ends. Leave on for 1–2 hours or overnight, followed by your regular hair wash.
A beautiful oil blend: Mahua Oil is a rich, heavier oil, making it especially lovely when blended with Jojoba Oil, a lighter oil. Together, they create a well-balanced hair oil blend.
Tip: A little goes a long way. Start with a small amount and add more if needed.
Suitable for: Mahua Oil is ideal for dry and dehydrated skin, rough or dull-looking skin, dry and frizzy hair, and damaged or brittle-looking hair.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use.
